Washington, Apr. 4 (SANA) U.S. President Donald Trump warned Iran on Saturday that it would face “severe consequences” if it does not reach an agreement or reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours.

According to AFP, Trump posted on his Truth Social platform: “I gave Iran a deadline to make a deal or reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Time is running out, and only 48 hours remain.”

Trump had previously set a 10-day deadline on March 26, due to expire on April 6, urging Tehran to conclude an agreement and reopen the strait.

He also warned that the United States could target Iran’s power generation facilities if the waterway remains closed.
