Beirut, Mar.29 (SANA) Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health announced on Sunday that the death toll from Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon since March 2 has exceeded 1,200 people.

According to a statement cited by the National News Agency (NNA), the total number of fatalities reported by the Emergency Operations Center has risen as of March 29 to 1,238, including 52 paramedics and healthcare workers and 124 children. The number of wounded has also risen to 3,543.

Israel has intensified its attacks on Lebanon since March 2, following strikes by Hezbollah militia targeting Israeli positions. Israeli forces have since been carrying out near-daily air raids on Beirut’s southern suburbs as well as on wide areas in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley.
