Occupied Jerusalem, March 29 (SANA) Palestinian National Council President Rawhi Fattouh said on Sunday that ongoing Israeli military escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories amounts to a war crime and violates international humanitarian law.
Fattouh said the actions also constitute a breach of ceasefire agreements, according to remarks carried by the Palestinian news agency WAFA.
He said Israeli policies involving killings, attacks on civilians and destruction of property reflect a systematic approach that threatens security and stability in the region.
Fattouh also criticized what he called international inaction, saying the lack of response effectively allows continued operations in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
He called for urgent steps to hold those responsible accountable and to implement legal measures to deter further violations.
Fattouh said such actions would not weaken Palestinian resolve but would instead reinforce commitment to what he described as their national rights, urging the international community to take responsibility to stop the violence.
