Sana’a, March 28 (SANA) – Yemen’s government on Saturday condemned Iranian attempts to involve the country in regional conflicts, warning that such actions threaten both national sovereignty and regional security.
In a statement carried by the Saba news agency, the government said Iran seeks to undermine sovereign states and turn their territories into platforms for exerting pressure and destabilization, posing a threat to international peace.
The statement accused the Houthi group of aligning with Iran’s policies, warning that the group’s actions risk drawing Yemen into destructive regional conflicts that serve external agendas. It added that the Houthis’ support for Iran also aims to ease growing military and political pressure on the group by opening new fronts of conflict.
The government cautioned that these developments could worsen Yemen’s security and sovereignty, aggravate humanitarian conditions, and disrupt supply chains, contributing to rising food and energy prices.
It emphasized that decisions over war and peace are the exclusive sovereign right of the Yemeni state and its constitutional institutions. Any military action outside this framework is illegitimate.
The government said it will take the necessary measures to prevent Yemen’s territory from being used to threaten regional or international security. It also urged the international community to hold Iran accountable, increase pressure on the Houthis, and support efforts to restore state institutions and stability.
