Kuwait, March 25 (SANA) Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Jordan reiterated their strongest condemnation of Iran’s blatant aggressions, which constitute a clear violation of their sovereignty, territorial integrity, and international law. The countries stressed their full right to self- defense in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter.
In a joint statement issued Wednesday and published by Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry on its account on the X platform, the signatory states specifically condemned attacks carried out by “Iran-aligned armed factions” from Iraqi territory against several countries in the region, targeting infrastructure and vital facilities.
The statement described these actions as a breach of international laws and conventions and a blatant violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which calls on Iran to cease any attacks or threats against neighboring states, including through its proxies.
The countries expressed appreciation for their fraternal ties with Iraq, urging the Iraqi government to take immediate measures to halt attacks launched by militias and armed groups from its territory toward neighboring states, in order to preserve bilateral relations and prevent further escalation.
The six states also condemned destabilizing activities planned by Iran-aligned sleeper cells and terrorist organizations linked to Hezbollah-affiliated militias.
They noted the efforts of their armed forces and security agencies in countering these attacks, arresting infiltrating cells and uncovering their plots.
Several countries in the region have been subjected to Iranian missile and drone attacks since 28 February, resulting in casualties and material damage.
