Abu Dhabi, March 15 (SANA) The UAE Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday that its air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed four ballistic missiles and six drones launched from Iran.
In a statement released via the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the Ministry provided a comprehensive toll of the ongoing hostilities. Since the start of what it described as “blatant Iranian aggression,” the UAE air defenses have countered a total of 298 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,606 drones. These attacks have tragically resulted in the deaths of six individuals of various nationalities and 142 cases of minor to moderate injuries.
The Ministry emphasized its full readiness and vigilance to deal with any threats, vowing to respond firmly to any attempts to undermine the state’s security. It reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the UAE’s sovereignty, stability, and national interests.
These latest strikes are part of a broader pattern of Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting several Arab nations, including the UAE. The escalation follows the outbreak of the regional war involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, which has caused significant material damage to vital infrastructure across the region and raised international concerns over the safety of global trade routes.
