ABU DHABI, Mar.15 (SANA) Authorities in the United Arab Emirates announced on Sunday that a fire which erupted at an oil facility in Abu Dhabi following a drone strike has been brought under control.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the Abu Dhabi Media Office said in a statement that the competent authorities in the Emirate had succeeded in controlling the fire that erupted after a drone struck an oil facility in the Ruwais area last Tuesday.
The statement added that emergency response teams worked to contain the blaze and are currently carrying out the necessary post-fire cooling measures.
Officials stated that the incident did not result in any human casualties.
Earlier on Saturday, the UAE Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted and thwarted a new Iranian attack involving nine ballistic missiles and 33 drones.
The ministry added that since the start of the Iranian attacks, UAE air defences have neutralised 294 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,600 drones.
Iran continues to carry out missile and drone attacks on several Arab countries, including the UAE, causing casualties and material damage to infrastructure amid the military escalation in the region resulting from the U.S.–Israeli–Iranian war.
