Riyadh ,Mar. 12 (SANA) Saudi Arabia announced that its air defenses intercepted and destroyed 18 drones over the Eastern Region, in addition to one drone intercepted in the Empty Quarter as it was heading towards the Shaybah oil field.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), ministry spokesperson Maj. Gen. Turki al-Malki confirmed on Wednesday that the Kingdom’s air defense systems successfully engaged all incoming drones, preventing them from reaching their targets.
Iran continues to launch missile and drone attacks against several Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, resulting in casualties and material damage to infrastructure. The escalation follows U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, which have contributed to rising regional tensions.
