Arab security council denounces Iranian strikes violating Arab sovereignty

TUNIS, Mar.5 (SANA) The General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers has strongly condemned Iran’s “blatant aggression and the flagrant violation of the sovereignty and airspace of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait”.

In a statement published on its official website on Thursday, the Secretariat stated that the unjustified aggression constitutes a clear violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.

The statement emphasized the council’s categorical rejection of Iranian actions that could undermine security and stability in the region and derail efforts aimed at de-escalation and peace, noting that Arab countries had been at the forefront of initiatives seeking to achieve stability.

The Secretariat reiterated its unwavering and complete solidarity with the affected Arab states, backing all measures and steps taken by these countries to preserve their sovereignty, security and stability.

The statement also commended the brave response by the defense forces of these countries in repelling the attacks and taking the necessary measures to secure the safety of their citizens and the protection of vital facilities.

It further expressed appreciation for the high level of competence and professionalism demonstrated by the security forces of those countries in confronting security threats.
