Occupied Jerusalem, March 3 (SANA) – The Colonization & Wall Resistance Commission (CWRC) said Israeli occupation forces and settlers carried out 1,965 violations against Palestinians and their property during February, reflecting what it described as a significant escalation in attacks.
According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, the head of the commission, Muayad Shaban, said in the body’s monthly report that Israeli forces were responsible for 1,454 incidents, while settlers carried out 511 attacks.
The violations were concentrated in the cities of Hebron, Nablus, Ramallah and al-Bireh, and occupied Jerusalem.
Shaban said the incidents included physical assaults, uprooting trees, burning agricultural fields, seizing property, demolishing homes and agricultural facilities, and closing large areas of Palestinian land to facilitate settlement expansion.
The report also indicated that Israeli authorities seized 2,022 dunums of Palestinian land during February, including 2,000 dunums from the archaeological site of Sebastia, in what the commission described as the largest seizure of archaeological land in the Palestinian territories.
In addition, Israeli authorities approved plans for 642 new settlement units in the West Bank and 613 units in occupied Jerusalem, according to the report.
Shaban had previously reported that 1,872 violations were recorded in January against Palestinians, their land, and property.
