Washington, March 2 (SANA) The United States and six Arab countries issued a joint statement on Monday condemning the Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting several countries across the region.
The statement, released by White House spokesperson Dylan Johnson on X, said the attacks had targeted sovereign territories including Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
It described the missile and drone strikes as “unprovoked, indiscriminate and reckless,” saying they endangered civilian populations and caused damage to civilian infrastructure.
The countries said the attacks marked a dangerous escalation that violated the sovereignty of multiple states and threatened regional stability.
The statement also reaffirmed a commitment to regional security cooperation, including coordination on air and missile defense systems, which it said had helped prevent significant loss of life.
“All countries stand united in defending their citizens, sovereignty and territories,” the statement said.
Since Saturday, a number of Gulf states, in addition to Jordan, have been subjected to Iranian missile and drone attacks, following the joint U.S.-Israeli strike on Iran.
