Ankara, Feb. 12 (SANA) Qatar and Türkiye stressed the need to reduce tensions in the region during talks held in Ankara on Wednesday, according to Qatar’s state news agency.

Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to discuss regional developments and bilateral ties.

The two sides emphasized the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to de-escalate tensions through dialogue and peaceful means in order to strengthen regional security, Qatar News Agency reported.

They also reviewed the latest developments in the region and discussed areas of cooperation between their countries and ways to further enhance them.

Qatar and Türkiye have maintained a close strategic partnership since 2014, marked by political coordination on regional issues as well as expanding economic and defense cooperation.
