CAIRO, Feb.01 (SANA) Arab Parliament President Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi strongly condemned the serious and deliberate Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, describing them as a “dangerous and bloody escalation” that reflects disregard for international laws and conventions.
In a written statement issued Saturday, Al-Yamahi said the violations amount to a complete undermining of any commitment to de-escalation, a blatant disregard for the efforts of mediators, and a breach of international agreements and understandings. He said the actions aim to impose new military and security realities by force and evade obligations related to implementing the ceasefire.
Al-Yamahi said developments in Gaza constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity, calling for immediate accountability. He warned that the continuation of such aggressive practices undermines prospects for stability and threatens regional and international peace and security.
He held Israel fully responsible for the consequences of the escalation, criticizing the international silence over ongoing killings of Palestinians. Al-Yamahi called on the UN Security Council to take urgent and decisive action to compel full and immediate implementation of the ceasefire agreement and to provide international protection for the Palestinian people.
Separately, Gaza’s Government Media Office said in a statement Saturday that Israeli forces have committed a total of 1,450 ceasefire violations since the agreement entered into force on Oct. 10, 2025, describing the actions as a clear breach of international humanitarian law and a deliberate undermining of the ceasefire and its accompanying humanitarian protocol.
UN and international bodies have warned that continued Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip risk eroding the ceasefire and worsening humanitarian conditions, urging urgent international measures to halt violations, ensure the delivery of humanitarian assistance, protect civilians, and prevent further deterioration.
