New York, 05 Jan. (SANA) The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced that more than 12,000 Palestinian children are currently living in conditions of forced displacement in the West Bank as a result of ongoing military operations by Israeli occupation authorities.

In a statement published on its official account on the social media platform X, the UN agency said that thousands of children continue to face forced displacement across the West Bank, underscoring the severe humanitarian impact of the current situation on Palestinian families.

UNRWA said it launched an emergency education program in February 2025 for displaced children in the northern West Bank to ensure the continuity of their education. The program includes the establishment of temporary learning spaces, the provision of remote education options, and the delivery of psychosocial support to help children cope with the effects of displacement.

The agency added that approximately 48,000 Palestinian children are currently enrolled in UNRWA schools throughout the West Bank.

Since the start of the war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, Israeli occupation forces and settlers have intensified their actions in the West Bank. These have included the killing of Palestinians, the demolition of homes, the displacement of residents, and the continued expansion of settlement activity.
