Ankara, Dec. 5 (SANA) Turkish authorities have arrested 233 individuals suspected of ties to the ISIS terrorist organization or of financing its activities, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced Tuesday.
The arrests were made during coordinated security operations across 33 provinces over the past two weeks, Yerlikaya said in a post on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal.
Of those detained, 51 have been remanded in custody pending investigation, while 24 are under judicial supervision. Legal proceedings continue against the remaining suspects.
Turkey maintains year-round security operations aimed at safeguarding peace and stability nationwide. In a similar operation in September, 161 people were arrested on suspicion of ISIS affiliation.
