Turkey committed to all efforts for just, lasting peace in Ukraine conflict

Ankara, Dec. 3 (SANA) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan affirmed Tuesday that Turkey is ready to take all necessary measures to achieve a “just and lasting” peace between Russia and Ukraine, highlighting the ongoing diplomatic contacts aimed at reviving the Istanbul negotiation process.

According to the Turkish Presidency’s Communications Directorate and Anadolu Agency, Erdogan told French President Emmanuel Macron during a phone call that diplomatic channels must be used effectively to secure a durable settlement, and that Turkey will continue its support both during and after a ceasefire.

Erdogan stressed that avoiding actions that could threaten global peace would strengthen efforts to reach an agreement. The two leaders also discussed bilateral relations and key regional and international issues, underscoring the importance of reinforcing cooperation between Ankara and Paris.

The statement follows the White House’s announcement on November 23 of a draft updated peace plan, developed after talks between U.S. and Ukrainian delegations on former President Donald Trump’s proposal to end the war, although details of the revised plan were not disclosed.
