UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and European Council President António Costa have underscored the importance of intensifying international efforts to pave the way for peace in the Middle East, specifically advocating for a two-state solution to establish a Palestinian state.
The Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported that bin Zayed met Costa in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, where they discussed a range of global and regional issues, with a focus on the Middle East and developments in the occupied Palestinian territories. The two leaders emphasized the critical need to maintain the ceasefire in Gaza to ensure continued humanitarian aid for its residents.
Both leaders highlighted the urgent need to advance international efforts toward a lasting and comprehensive peace, based on the two-state solution, for the benefit of all peoples in the region. They also stressed the importance of strengthening diplomatic initiatives and dialogue to resolve ongoing crises in both the Middle East and Europe, which they described as key to ensuring regional and global security.
Bin Zayed and Costa also explored avenues for deeper cooperation between the UAE, the EU, and its member states, emphasizing the need to expand collaboration across all sectors to further mutual interests.
