US journalist Abby Martin confirmed that Israeli forces abused activists of the Sumud Flotilla after their recent detention while on their way to the besieged Gaza Strip.
In an interview with Anadolu News Agency, Abby noted that Israel’s humiliating treatment of activists, mocking them and describing them as terrorists, “reflects its sense of impunity and reveals the sadistic nature of Israeli forces.”
“Humanity has witnessed one of the most brutal acts of genocide in Gaza over the past two years,” the journalist added, criticizing the media’s “complicity in the genocide” that Israel has been committing in Gaza.
For her part, French Member of the European Parliament Rima Hassan announced that she was hit by Israeli forces after her detention for participating in the aid flotilla heading to break the siege on the Gaza Strip.
“We were between 13 and 15 people in a cell with no beds, just a mattress on the floor of a maximum-security Israeli prison in the Negev. We lacked everything,” she said.
For her part, Greta Thunberg, a Swedish activist, denounced the mistreatment and violations committed inside Israeli detention centers.
Last Wednesday, Israeli forces attacked 42 ships of the Global Sumud Flotilla while they were sailing in international waters toward Gaza, illegally detaining hundreds of activists on board before deporting them.
