Turkey Rejects Israeli Media Allegations as Disinformation Campaign

Ankara, SANA – The Turkish Presidency’s Communications Department strongly rejected allegations in Hebrew media linking Turkey to a plot to assassinate an Israeli minister, describing them as part of a deliberate disinformation campaign aimed at undermining Ankara’s policies in support of Palestine.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Anti-Media Disinformation Center stressed in a statement on the Turkish platform NSosyal that the claims were fabricated. “The mention of our country’s name in this context is the result of a deliberate media disinformation campaign against Turkey,” the statement said.

The Department clarified that the case referred to in the reports dates back eight months, and that Red Cross officials confirmed the arrested individuals had no connection to Turkey.

“The main goal of this news is to mislead international public opinion and tarnish Turkey’s stance on Palestine,” the statement added, urging audiences to disregard what it called black propaganda targeting Ankara.

Israeli occupation media had earlier cited the Shin Bet (Shabak) as claiming the arrest of a Hamas cell in Hebron allegedly directed from Turkey and plotting to assassinate Israel’s National Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir.
