London, SANA- British Foreign Secretary David Lammy has called for an immediate end to Israel’s military operation in Gaza, expressing his country’s anger over Israel’s continued refusal to allow humanitarian aid into the besieged strip.
Speaking before the House of Commons, Lammy said: “What is happening in Gaza is not a natural disaster but a man-made famine in the 21st century. We all know there is only one way forward—an immediate ceasefire.”
He announced that the UK, in cooperation with the World Health Organization, is arranging to transfer children suffering from serious illnesses out of Gaza for specialized treatment in British hospitals, with the first group expected to arrive in the coming weeks.
Lammy added that London has allocated an additional £15 million (about $20 million) in medical aid for Gaza, and is working with regional partners, including Egypt and Jordan, to ensure assistance reaches those in need. He stressed the need for a “comprehensive humanitarian response” to prevent further Palestinian deaths from starvation.
