Cairo, SANA Egypt strongly condemned the continued Israeli military escalation in the Gaza Strip, stressing that these violations constitute a flagrant breach of international humanitarian law and are completely inconsistent with the international desire to end the war on the Gaza Strip.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed in a statement Monday that the failure of the Israeli occupation authorities to respond to the efforts made to reach an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip reflects a complete lack of will on their part to de-escalate and establish calm and peace, and the existence of clear intentions to continue the aggression against innocent people in the Gaza Strip, explaining that this threatens to double the dire catastrophic consequences for the humanitarian situation in Gaza, especially in light of the starvation and siege policies pursued by the Israeli occupation against defenceless civilians.
During a meeting with EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty urged the European Union to take serious and effective measures to pressure Israel to halt its military operations and end practices that threaten the establishment of a Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders
