New York, SANA- The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights Francesca Albanese, in the occupied Palestinian territories, condemned the Israeli occupation forces for targeting civil defense personnel in Gaza as they attempted to evacuate the wounded and recover the bodies of those killed following the bombing of Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, southern Gaza.
In a post on the platform X, Albanese wrote: “Rescuers are being killed while performing their duty. Scenes like these unfold every moment in Gaza—often out of sight and without adequate documentation.”
She added: “I appeal to governments: How much longer must we witness these massacres before action is taken? Lift the blockade on Gaza, impose sanctions on Israel, and enforce an arms embargo.”
Earlier on Monday, Israeli airstrikes targeted the Nasser Medical Complex, resulting in the deaths of 15 Palestinians, including five journalists. One civil defense worker was also killed, and others were injured while attempting to rescue the wounded.
