Damascus, SANA – Minister of Health Dr. Musab Al-Ali discussed on Thursday with the Country Director of the Norwegian Aid and Relief (NORWAC) in Syria, Dr. Bilal Al-Jabri, ways of enhancing joint health cooperation and supporting efforts to stabilize the health sector in Syria.
The participants discussed the importance of joint health cooperation in the areas of medical rehabilitation, training of health personnel and agreed on several projects for the current year, most notably blood banks and thalassemia, as well as efforts to expand and assist in the treatment of cancer patients.
Dr. Al-Ali expressed the Ministry’s readiness to cooperate with the organization, hold joint workshops to bridge health gaps, provide training equipment, and enhance the quality of health services provided.
For his part, Dr. Al-Jabri noted that the organization is working on establishing a project to train doctors in laparoscopic and gynecological surgery, stressing the need to connect the network of doctors between Syria and Norway, particularly in expanding areas of health cooperation.
