Damascus, SANA- During a tour of Ibn Rushd Psychiatric Hospital in Damascus, Acting Minister of Health Dr. Maher al-Sharaa briefed on the hospital’s condition and readiness.
The tour included the laboratory, the psychiatric clinics, and the patients’ department. Dr. al-Sharaa listened to the medical, administrative, and technical staff about their needs and the challenges they face, as well as proposals for solving them, in addition to the hospital’s needs for supplies.
Dr. al-Sharaa stressed that psychiatry will be a priority in the coming period, as work plans and studies have been developed to advance it, including the introduction of emergency psychiatry and the integration of psychiatry students into relevant centers and hospitals.
Director of Ibn Rushd Hospital Dr. Ghandi Farah pointed out the importance of identifying the difficulties and challenges facing the hospital and its staff, in order to work on solving them and providing services in the best possible way, including increasing the nature of work for employees, training staff, and raising their efficiency.
