During a meeting held at the ministry’s headquarters, Dr. al-Sharaa highlighted the program’s significance and its substantial role in supporting and alleviating the burdens on Syria’s healthcare sector. He considered it a new beginning for Syrian-Saudi relations.

In turn, the head of the Saudi delegation, Dr. Ali al-Qarni, commended the Syrian medical expertise despite the limited available resources.

He noted that the team’s work continues throughout the year to implement 104 medical projects with the participation of more than 100 volunteers, which will require over 218 thousand hours to implement.

At the end of the meeting, Dr. al-Sharaa presented the delegation with an honorary shield in recognition of their significant efforts during their stay in Syria.

The Saudi “Amal” Volunteer Program was launched by King Salman Center for Humanitarian Aid and Relief (KSRelief) in coordination with al-Ameen Organization for Humanitarian Support to conduct specialized surgeries in Syria, including joint replacement, cochlear implantation, and tumor removal.
