Hama, Sep. 5 (SANA) The “All for Syria” medical campaign began in Hama on Saturday, providing free medical examinations and services to residents of the city and northern countryside through September 10.
The campaign is organized by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with the Atlantic Humanitarian Relief (AHR).
Services began Saturday through clinics specializing in internal medicine, gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics and dermatology. The campaign will also operate at Al-Fayhaa Health Center in Hama on September 8 and 9, and at Khattab Health Center in the northern countryside from September 5 through 7.
The campaign’s medical services also include corneal transplant surgeries for a number of patients at the city’s Eye Diseases Hospital on September 6 and 7, said Faher Terkawi, AHR’s medical coordinator for Hama.
Mohammad Akram Ramadan, a doctor participating in the campaign, said patients at Khattab Health Center receive specialized examinations in dermatology, gynecology, pediatrics and internal medicine, along with medical advice and guidance. A mobile pharmacy is also providing medicines free of charge.
Residents said the campaign helped reduce the financial burden of medical care. Saloum Rbeid, from eastern Hama countryside, said he received treatment for his child through the campaign, easing the financial burden on his family.
Hanan Al-Nahar said the campaign enabled her son, who has hemiplegia, to be examined by specialist doctors and provided her with medication free of charge.
The Ministry of Health announced in July that the “All for Syria” medical and surgical campaign would be held in Damascus, Damascus Countryside, Aleppo, Homs, Idlib and Hama from September 5 to 10 in cooperation with AHR.
AHR is an international organization established to provide free health care, surgical and pharmaceutical services, medical support and specialized surgical missions in several regions around the world.
