Dubai, Feb. 12 (SANA) Syrian health officials held discussions with representatives of U.S. medical companies in Dubai on investment opportunities in Syria’s health sector, officials said on Thursday.
Deputy Health Minister Hussein al-Khatib met company representatives on the sidelines of World Health Expo Dubai 2026 to explore prospects for joint cooperation and potential investment in pharmaceutical manufacturing and private healthcare facilities.
The meeting was also attended by Steve Lutes, Vice President for Middle East Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Al-Khatib outlined developments in Syria’s health sector, highlighting the role of the domestic pharmaceutical industry in meeting local and regional demand. He invited U.S. companies to visit Syria to assess investment opportunities and explore long-term partnerships aimed at strengthening healthcare services and bilateral cooperation.
The five-day expo brings together more than 4,300 exhibitors from around 180 countries to discuss cooperation in the health sector and showcase the latest expertise.
