Damascus, Jan. 25 (SANA) Syrian Minister of Health Musab al-Ali confirmed that the ministry has begun preparations to rehabilitate five hospitals in the provinces of Hama, Idlib, Deir Ezzor, Daraa, and Homs, as part of a comprehensive national plan to restore health infrastructure and strengthen the readiness of medical institutions.
In an exclusive statement to SANA, al-Ali said the rehabilitation work will include structural and technical repairs, provision of essential medical equipment, and upgrades to emergency, intensive care units, and laboratory departments.
He explained that the step comes within government efforts to revive the health sector in areas where facilities were damaged, noting that the rehabilitation will expand healthcare services and improve emergency response capabilities.
The minister concluded by stressing that the ministry will continue implementing its plans to rehabilitate and upgrade hospitals and health centers across all provinces in coordination with relevant authorities, to ensure sustainable health services and meet citizens’ growing needs.
Earlier today, the minister signed an MoU with Turkish Ambassador, Nuh Yilmaz, to equip Syrian hospitals with MRI scanners and other modern medical devices.
