Raqqa, Jan. 25 (SANA) Syria’s Ministry of Health has equipped the kidney unit at Raqqa National Hospital with 20 new dialysis machines on Sunday, of the German brand Fresenius, as part of efforts to expand and improve healthcare services for patients with renal failure in the province.
Dr. Wasel Al-Jark, director of health facilities at the ministry, told SANA that three of the machines were put into service immediately, while the remaining units will be activated gradually starting Monday once technical procedures are completed.
He explained that the new equipment will ease pressure on the hospital’s kidney department, allow for more daily treatment sessions, and enhance the quality of care provided to patients, particularly amid rising demand for dialysis services in Raqqa.
Al-Jark reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting hospitals in liberated provinces by supplying essential medical equipment, which he said will strengthen health services and ensure better access for citizens.
The Health Ministry previously announced the conclusion of the emergency phase in Aleppo, Deir Ezzor, and Raqqa, and the transition to the recovery stage after completing urgent health response measures.
