Damascus, Jan. 9 (SANA) The Syrian Ministry of Health condemned on Friday a deadly shooting that targeted medical staff and a driver at al-Kindi Hospital in Homs on Thursday evening. Three healthcare workers and their driver were killed while leaving the hospital after their shifts, the ministry said.
In a statement, the Ministry expressed “deep sorrow” over the incident and affirmed its full support for healthcare workers, stressing that the hospital continues to operate normally.
The Ministry said it is working closely with security and judicial authorities to investigate the attack and pledged a review of security measures at medical facilities to ensure the safety of staff, patients, and visitors.
Authorities also urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward to assist the investigation. The Ministry emphasized that protecting healthcare personnel remains a top priority and vowed to take all necessary measures to maintain hospital operations and essential services.
