Loyalty to Kafranbel's fund raising collects over $3 million to rebuild the city

A fundraising campaign launched in southern Idleb late Friday raised more than $3 million to help rebuild Kafranbel, a city devastated by years of conflict and bombardment.

The “Loyalty to Kafranbel” initiative aims to restore public infrastructure and services to enable displaced residents to return. The launch event drew widespread participation from locals, community leaders, and civil society groups.

“We launched this campaign to help displaced people return to their city. Our goal is to rebuild infrastructure and public facilities,” said Abdullah al-Suwaid, one of the campaign’s organizers.

Mohammad al-Sheikh, head of public relations for the campaign, said more than $3 million had already been collected. “Our aim is to prepare the city for the return of its residents by restoring essential services,” he added.

Despite widespread destruction, Kafranbel is slowly rebuilding. The campaign is one of several grassroots efforts across Syria seeking to revive war-torn communities and restore normal life after years of devastation.
