Damascus ,SANA-Renowned Syrian artist Walid Jano inaugurated his latest exhibition at Art House Gallery in Damascus under the title “This Is Just a Tribute”, showcasing 39 paintings inspired by the words and melodies of the late Lebanese musician Ziad Rahbani. The collection blends expressive, realistic, and abstract styles.

Jano explained that the exhibition reflects a spiritual and artistic connection to Rahbani’s work. Using both digital and manual techniques, he employed acrylic on canvas and wood, incorporating silver and gold metallic paper—drawing on his background in graphic design and visual communication.
Head of the Union of Syrian Arab Plastic Artists is Dr. Muhammad Subhi al-Sayyid Yahya, praised the exhibition for its emotional richness and generational resonance. Gallery director Rania Obeid described the show as a fusion of visual art and music, evoking nostalgia and reverence, and announced a musical tribute concert to Rahbani’s work scheduled for the following week.
Born in Damascus in 1963, Walid Jano graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts and gained recognition in the 1990s with his “Art for All” initiative. Since 2020, he has focused exclusively on painting, considering his Rahbani-inspired works the pinnacle of his artistic expression.
