Daraa, Dec. 10 (SANA) Internal security forces in Daraa Province managed to seize a weapons depot inside a farm in the eastern countryside of the province, which was prepared for smuggling to outlawed groups.

Brigadier General Mohammad Ibrahim al-Sukhni, Commander of Internal Security in Daraa, told SANA’s correspondent that, based on precise intelligence regarding a depot containing missiles intended for smuggling to outlawed groups, specialized units began surveillance and close monitoring, and carried out a well-executed security operation that led to the seizure of the depot inside a farm in eastern Daraa countryside.
Al-Sukhni explained that 42 Malutka missiles and 4 Metis missiles with a launch base were found, all of which were duly confiscated, and the site was fully secured according to established procedures. He noted that the competent authorities are continuing intensive investigations to uncover all those involved and bring them to justice to receive their fair punishment.
He said: “We affirm the continued readiness of our forces to confront anyone who dares to undermine the security of the homeland and destabilize it. We call on citizens to cooperate and report any suspicious activity, as security is a collective responsibility that can only be achieved through everyone’s solidarity.”
