Homs, SANA – Syrian Civil Defense teams in Homs province have recovered the remains of four people, including two victims of the massacres committed in the Karm al-Zeitoun neighborhood in 2012.
According to Ahmad Bakkar, director of the Civil Defense media office in Homs, residents alerted teams after human remains were uncovered during excavation for a new building near al-Rifai Mosque in Karm al-Zeitoun. Civil Defense personnel quickly responded, recovering the remains of a man and a woman, both showing clear signs of torture and with their hands and necks bound — indicating they were subjected to field executions.

The remains were transferred to Karm al-Loz Hospital, pending handover to the relevant authorities.
In a separate operation, Civil Defense teams also recovered the remains of two additional individuals in the western Homs countryside, between the villages of al-Qabou and al-Awsiya. Those remains were moved to al-Walid Hospital for further examination.
