Syria joins UNESCO's regional launch of Education in Emergencies Framework in Beirut

UNESCO adopted on Saturday the Strategic Framework for Education in Emergencies in the Arab Region 2025–2030 at its regional meeting in Beirut, with Syria among the participating countries.

The two-day event also featured a presentation of the framework’s overall vision, key priorities, and implementation roadmap.
Participants emphasized education in emergencies as a pressing regional priority and called for political, financial, and technical support to ensure effective implementation.

They also highlighted the need for coordinated efforts among stakeholders to guarantee the right of millions of children and adolescents to access education under all circumstances.

Syrian representatives included officials from the Ministry of Education and early childhood development experts.

On October 30, UNESCO held the 43rd session of its General Conference in Uzbekistan, with Syria among the participating countries.
