Launch of “SAFIR 2025” Syrian Academic Summit for Innovation and Reform

Damascus, SANA-The Syrian Academic Summit for Innovation, Education, Research, and Reform—“SAFIR 2025”—kicked off Monday at Damascus  University with the participation of more than 300 academics, students, policymakers and researchers from Syria and abroad.

 Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Marwan al-Halabi inaugurated the summit by announcing the launch of the Global Encyclopedia of Higher Education from Damascus, describing it as a historic scientific milestone aimed at renewing the educational system and linking it to national development.

Halabi emphasized that reforming higher education is a national imperative, outlining a comprehensive vision focused on curriculum modernization, university autonomy, integrating research with economic needs, and establishing centers of research excellence.

The summit aims to develop a national roadmap for higher education reform and strengthen its role in reconstruction and sustainable development.
