Syrian-Qatari talks to develop land and sea ports

Damascus, SANA- The head of the General Authority for Land and Sea Ports, Qutaiba Badawi, discussed on Tuesday with the Chargé d’affaires of the Qatari Embassy in Damascus, Khalifa Abdullah Al-Mahmoud, ways to enhance bilateral relations.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to develop the relationship in the field of developing the infrastructure of land and sea ports and encouraging Qatari investments in the transport and logistics sector.

Badawi emphasised the importance of Arab economic openness at this stage, and the need to direct investments towards vital projects.

“The meeting comes in the context of the government’s endeavours to enhance cooperation with Arab countries in the reconstruction phase and expand investments in the services sector related to regional and international trade and transport”, according to the authority.
