Damascus, Aug. 16 (SANA) Director of the General Establishment for Exhibitions and International Markets Mohammad Hamza, , said the 63rd Damascus International Fair will witness broad international and local participation, with 1,000 entities from 60 countries taking part alongside Syrian ministries, institutions, public bodies and trade unions.

Hamza told SANA on Sunday that the scale and diversity of participation reflected the Fair’s role in supporting investment and Syria’s economic openness.

He said the presence of Syrian government bodies at the fair would give visitors and businessmen direct access to information needed to explore investment opportunities in Syria through the relevant ministries, institutions and their exhibition stands.

Hamza said Syrian artisans would have a significant presence at the fair, showcasing traditional Syrian crafts and products.

Companies and organizations representing the food, industrial, chemical, agricultural and commercial sectors will also participate, he added.

Hamza said procedures for participants had been streamlined, with authorities working alongside the Ports and Customs Authority to facilitate the entry of goods belonging to international companies without unnecessary obstacles.

Entry visa procedures for participants and visitors are also being coordinated with the Ports and Customs Authority, the Interior Ministry and the aviation authorities, he said.

The 62nd Damascus International Fair , held from Aug. 28 to Sept. 5, 2025, attracted 2.261 million visitors, while the value of contracts and agreements signed during the event exceeded 9 billion Syrian pounds.
