Damascus, July 27 (SANA) Syria’s Agriculture Minister Basel al-Suwaidan discussed on Monday with representatives of Christian Aid organization expanding cooperation on agricultural recovery, food security and rural development.
According to Syria’s Ministry of Agriculture, the discussions focused on programs to support rural households, encourage investment in agriculture, strengthen women’s participation in agricultural value chains and facilitate the return of displaced farmers to agricultural production.
Christian Aid representatives presented the organization’s development priorities and proposed a joint project based on innovative farming methods, women’s economic empowerment and climate resilience. According to the ministry, the project would be funded by the U.S. government.
