Damascus, July 27 (SANA) Two fuel shipments have arrived at Baniyas maritime terminal, including a tanker carrying 64,324 metric tonnes of diesel and another carrying 5,620.3 metric tonnes of liquefied gas, as efforts continue to maintain petroleum product supplies in the domestic market.

The Syrian Petroleum Company said it began connecting the vessels to terminal facilities and transferring the cargoes into Baniyas storage tanks after completing the required technical procedures.

The Ministry of Energy said it continues to implement maritime and land supply plans to maintain the flow of petroleum products to refineries and distribution stations and support supply stability.

The shipments follow recent measures by the ministry to increase fuel allocations and accelerate distribution after supply disruptions and increased demand following a fuel price reduction.

The ministry said earlier this month that it had dispatched 407 gasoline shipments and 639 diesel shipments to fuel stations across Syria’s provinces, with total allocated supplies exceeding 25 million liters.

The ministry added that its long-term plans include increasing production, expanding refinery capacity, and rehabilitating storage facilities affected by infrastructure damage during 15 years of war.
