Qatar resumes maritime navigation after lifting temporary restrictions

Doha, July 6 (SANA) Qatar has resumed all maritime navigation activities for all types of vessels and watercraft after lifting temporary restrictions imposed last month, the Ministry of Transport said on Sunday.

In a statement posted on X, the ministry said vessel operators and users should comply with applicable regulations and ensure the availability of safety and security equipment to maintain safe maritime operations.

Qatar suspended sailing and fishing activities on June 29, while exempting commercial shipping, following heightened regional tensions. The restrictions came a day after authorities announced that a Qatari citizen had been killed by shrapnel resulting from military operations in the region.
