Idlib, May.7 (SANA) The General Organization for Free Zones, affiliated with the General Authority for Land and Sea Ports, signed a memorandum of understanding on Thursday with the Turkish company BOMACO to implement a project for the construction and operation of the free zone in Idlib under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) system.

Idlib Governorate said via its Telegram channel that the project includes the establishment of an integrated free zone and a dry port aimed at stimulating economic activity, attracting investments, and creating job opportunities, in addition to promoting trade exchange between the Syrian and Turkish sides.

Last April, Head of the General Authority for Land and Sea Ports and Customs, Qutaiba Badawi, held talks with the Turkish company BOMACO as part of efforts to explore opportunities for investment cooperation and infrastructure development in Syria’s free zones.
