Damascus, Apr.13 (SANA) Head of the Syrian Civil Aviation and Air Transport Authority Omar al-Husari held talks via video conference with Assistant Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia Abdullah bin Ali Al-Dubaikhi to discuss the executive procedures and timeline for the development and operation of Aleppo International Airport.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority’s Telegram channel on Monday, the meeting focused on following up the provisions of the recently signed agreement between the Authority and the Saudi-based Elaf Investment Fund.
The discussions also reviewed the necessary arrangements to initiate field operations, ensuring the airport’s readiness upgraded and that it operates in line with the latest international technical, technological and legal standards.
The talks come within the framework of joint cooperation to advance the air transport sector and modernize airport infrastructure in Syria, supporting transport and trade movement and reinforcing the vital role of Aleppo International Airport on regional and international aviation maps.
