Damascus, June 2 (SANA) The Syria Peace Initiative event began in Damascus on Tuesday, bringing together Syrian government officials, civil society representatives, international donors, diplomats and researchers to discuss priorities and opportunities during Syria’s transitional phase.
The forum, titled “Partner Event: Towards the New Syria,” is being held at the Cham Hotel in Damascus and is organized by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), with support from the German Federal Foreign Office, Denmark and the European Union.
Participants are expected to examine key challenges facing the transition period and explore areas of cooperation aimed at supporting recovery efforts, strengthening institutions and advancing sustainable development initiatives across Syria.
The event provides a platform for dialogue among government institutions, civil society organizations and international partners on issues related to reconstruction, governance and community development.
