Vienna, March 16 (SANA) A delegation from the Syrian Arab Republic, headed by Central Bank Governor Abdulkader Husrieh, arrived at the United Nations headquarters in Vienna to participate in a conference on combating financial fraud.
The Syrian delegation is attending the event as part of efforts to engage with international initiatives aimed at tackling financial crimes and strengthening cooperation among countries and institutions.
On Sunday, Husrieh said Syria’s participation in the 2026 Global Anti-Fraud Summit in Vienna will support cooperation with international institutions in tackling fraud and promoting the integrity of the global financial system.
In a post on the social media platform X, Husrieh said Syria’s participation is particularly important for the country’s Anti-Money Laundering Authority, offering an opportunity to exchange expertise and learn about international best practices in combating fraud and financial crimes.
Organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and INTERPOL, the summit brings together governments, law enforcement agencies, the private sector and civil society to strengthen cooperation and turn commitments into concrete action.
