Quneitra, Oct. 3 (SANA) Israeli occupation forces launched an incursion into the village of Saida al-Hanout in southern Quneitra countryside Saturday, opening heavy fire on civilian homes and directly targeting media crews operating in the area.
A military patrol entered the village and opened intense, indiscriminate fire toward residential buildings, SANA’s correspondent reported from the scene. Israeli forces also fired directly at journalists in the field, including the SANA reporting team, in an attempt to obstruct coverage and prevent the documentation of events on the ground.
Residents experienced heightened tension and panic as gunfire continued across the village. No casualties have been reported so far.
Earlier Saturday, Israeli artillery shelled the outskirts of Abdeen village in neighboring Daraa countryside. The shelling followed similar ground incursions two days earlier, when Israeli armored columns entered the villages of Bariqa and al-Hamidiya in southern and northern Quneitra.
Israeli occupation forces continue to violate the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through repeated incursions into southern Syria, raids on civilian homes, land bulldozing and artillery shelling.
Syria demands the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from its territory, stressing that all unilateral measures taken by the occupying power are null and void and have no legal effect under international law. It has also urged the international community to ensure full compliance with international resolutions.
