Barnieh: New tax system is partner in supporting Syrian industry economic growth

Damascus, Dec.13 (SANA) Finance Minister, Mohamed Yisr Barnieh, affirmed the existence of a genuine partnership between the State and the industrial sector, aimed at revitalizing Syrian industry and restoring it to normal role in supporting the national economy, increasing its contribution to the gross domestic product, creating more job opportunities and improving income levels.

Minister Barnieh told SANA Saturday that the new tax system includes numerous exemptions and incentives to help industrial enterprises overcome the challenges they face, emphasizing that the system was designed to support growth rather than be a burden on industrialists.

He pointed out that the ministry’s policy is based on the principle of partnership with the industrial sector, rather than on taxation alone.

Ministry of Finance works to enable industrial enterprises to expand and increase production, which positively reflects on public revenues through genuine growth without overburdening industrialists.

He emphasized that the primary goal is to help the industrial sector thrive, thereby enhancing its ability to create jobs and improve tax revenues.

The Minister clarified that the government is working to provide a wide package of exemptions and incentives for owners of damaged or destroyed factories, aiming to rehabilitate and re-operate them, pointing out that restoring the production cycle in these enterprises is a current priority due to its direct impact on the national economy and employment.
