The Director General of the Syrian Investment Authority, Talal al-Hilali, met with a delegation from the Saudi real estate company AJDAN to discuss potential investment opportunities in Syria’s real estate and tourism sectors, aiming to revitalize the country’s struggling economy.

During the meeting, held Monday at the Authority’s headquarters, al-Hilali noted that Syria currently needs 100,000 new housing units across various regions. He emphasized the Authority’s readiness to collaborate with AJDAN to ensure the success of the proposed projects.

He also highlighted potential cooperation in the Ebla Hotel and the Conference Palace as part of broader tourism investment plans.

AJDAN officials called the Ebla project a key national initiative and expressed interest in contributing to its development to meet the demands of both the tourism and housing markets. They also outlined plans to assess Syria’s housing needs and explore practical solutions.

Ghiath al-Farah, Deputy Minister of Tourism, revealed that Syria’s tourism sector urgently needs new hotel projects, as the country currently has only about 4,000 hotel rooms—far below the 25,000 needed to meet demand. He added that Syria has a capable workforce ready to support the sector’s expansion.

Founded in 2016 in Al-Khobar, AJDAN Real Estate Development Company is one of Saudi Arabia’s leading firms in the real estate sector. The company specializes in integrated residential, tourism, and entertainment projects. With its extensive experience, AJDAN is well-positioned to partner in Syria’s tourism and housing development.
