Syrian Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry, Basel Abdel Hanan, joined senior officials from OIC member states to explore avenues for strengthening economic and trade cooperation, supporting joint investments, and addressing current economic challenges.

The Syrian Development Fund also took part as a key partner in advancing development and investment projects in Syria, where representatives showcased the Fund’s programs aimed at promoting sustainable development and discussed financing mechanisms for joint economic initiatives among member states.

The session emphasized the importance of building strategic partnerships to foster economic growth and support sustainable development across the Islamic world.

COMCEC, established in 1981 and operational since 1984, includes 57 member states and five observer countries spanning four continents. Its mission is to confront economic challenges facing the Islamic community and contribute to the development efforts of OIC member nations.
