Damascus, SANA- President Ahmad al-Sharaa said on Thursday that God Almighty has placed the status of spending for the sake of Allah after the status of sacrificing oneself.
“Today, we stand on the threshold of a new phase, the phase of reconstruction in which we are writing the new history of Syria with our hands, our money, and our efforts,” the President said in a speech at the ceremony of the launch of the Syrian Development Fund ( SYDF) at Damascus citadel.
President Al-Sharaa added that the ousted regime has destroyed our economy, plundered our money, destroyed our homes, and displaced our people in camps and refugee places. We meet here today to heal the wounds of beloved Syria, rebuild it with the help of its people, and return the displaced and refugees to their land.
“We meet today to announce the launch of the Syrian Development Fund, through which we invite you to spend your generous funds to rebuild what the deposed regime has destroyed and restore the land they have burned into a green prosperous State,” the President said.
He added that the fund will be highly transparent and will disclose all funds spent on strategic projects.
“Fellow Syrians, I am not here to beg for charity for Sham, for God has guaranteed it and its people, and it is too precious to be given charity. But I am with you to remind myself and you of our duty at this time, for we are the ones who need to be honored to serve our country and our nation,” the President said.
President Al-Sharaa added “Remember, people of Syria, that we have only reached where we are today through great sacrifices and the sacrifices of the martyrs, the missing and the displaced. Their sacrifices are a trust upon our shoulders to continue the path to rebuilding our homeland.”
The President stressed that Syria today is testing your love and granting you the honor of contributing to healing its wounds and the honor of being part of the history of its reconstruction.
“Today, we have a great opportunity for those who have fallen short to make up for it and for those who have participated to increase their contributions so that we can rebuild Syria together,” President al-Sharaa said.
